closing time.
The escrow on my first new home closes on Tuesday! Yay! Up next will be shelling out the cash for the kitchen remodel and bathroom tweak. Been going through the towering stack of home and remodel magazines on the coffee table as though they were post apocalytic survival guides and I was studying for an upcoming test on the subject. Even gridded out my own homemade graph paper to mull over the new kitchen's layout and design the other night. That's right, who needs store bought graph paper? Eesh. It's nuts though how this is all something I've dreamed about for a long time and the only part that is not coming to fruition is the "living in the house" part. 'Suppose you can't always get what you want. Great. Now that's stuck in my head.
If you haven't already done so, please go and pick up both the latest copy of the Acme Novelty Library Vol 18 AND Chris Ware's new Acme Novelty Datebook 1995-2002. Damn, that man is a walking legend. Gorgeous melancholy like aching for a snowy day that we can't have here in LA! His sketches in the datebook are absolutely beautiful yet the self depricating comments he writes throughout make me want to kill myself. I mean, if THAT guy thinks he's shit, I'm just, well, whatever is far worse than shit. In other words, the Datebook is amazing and totally humbling to the reader/ viewer.
