Zelos-- One Mean Son Of A Gun

The I Am 8-Bit; Version 2.007 gallery show is swiftly approaching and I have finally decided what theme I am going to run with--- Konami's "Life Force"! In Japan, this shooter game was known as "Salamander" and it remains in my top 5 favorite NES games ever (yep, I just played it last night too).




In last year's piece, I portayed a dorky boy who wanted nothing more than to be pals with all his Nintendo heroes. This time I'm going to take a step back from getting too dark with that "kid who LIVES to play Nintendo" thing and just make a whimsical version of it. Whimsical feels right. And somehow make it work with a shallow shadowbox frame. With lights? What? I'm trying new things. Dual layers, people. Dual layers.
