Kareoke!

Last night Carlos and I had our joined birthday bash at Oiwake in Little Tokyo. Yay!! I got him a Sony PSP and he got me the entire Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode collection on DVD. Every goddamn episode (except for some of the ones Rhino released). Double yay!!

Liverpool Saves the Day

Wow, what a game that was despite the fact that my arch-nemesis, TiVo didn't record the added time! I still want to watch that 2nd half 3 goal comeback over and over and over. Damn fine football, lads!! AC Milan finally got what was coming to them- a defeat!

No ticky, no shirty

When there is no internet at the house, there is no comic. Ugh. For some bizarre reason, our modem isn't working properly. This weekend wasn't wasted though. I got a great start on putting up the stainless steel tiles for our backsplash in our kitchen. I was also looking after Carlos who's sick with a cold. My throat feels a bit irritated now too and I'm doing everything I can to put off this impending sickness. I haven't been sick in a year and 4 months so I'd like to continue to maintain the record!

What was that, Mr. Lucas?

Have you not seen a movie in the past 20 some odd years? Have you lost touch with the world in general? Or are you simply out to piss off your core audience? Yes, even the so called "new generation" of Star Wars fans who were seated all around us in the theater that you claim to have made these movies for were laughing with the rest of us at the screen, more than even I anticipated would happen. Way to go, man. Way to make a bomb. But you'll be laughing all the way to the bank. I could go on about this but I don't feel like wasting my time.

Funny gets a chance

Haha! David Cross totally calls Pitchforkmedia.com on all their bullshit reviews when they ask him to write up his list of favorite artists... Please read this for pure bitter bliss.

Oh yeah, and in other sweet David Cross news, my absolute favorite show, Arrested Development came back from the grave to be picked up for a 3rd season!!! Yay!!!

insert the sound of expectations crashing

Blood bath

Manchester United is probably still cleaning the blood off their already red jerseys after yesterday's slaughter by Chelsea. There was, however, a faint glimmer of hope in the first few minutes that the devils might come through in the end as van Nistelrooy scored the first goal for United. That glimmer was promptly stamped out and pissed on as Carroll let the ball pass right by him, getting Chelsea back on even standing. It was all over from there. What's going on lads? I was at least hoping for a draw! All in all though, the game was extremely well played as both sides handled the ball with supreme skill. Good football.

Where oh where....

...have the new comics gone? I know, I know. I'll be working on one later tonight.

Carlos and I are going to be getting our asses into shape over the next few weeks as our new elliptical machine winces under the stress of constant use. Yay! Used it last night and have no complaints. It's a smooth yet rigorous workout in the comfort of my home. Take that gym memberships with all yer sweaty yucky machines and hidden fees!

I'm really giving the 2006 Audi A3 a whole second glance as of late. Been seeing numerous ads for it and it's really grown on me. I passed it off as plain and bulky looking when I first saw the UK version online a few months ago. The options on this thing are pretty thorough and the more I look into it, it's not a bad bang for yer buck. It starts at 25k and the one I "built" came in at 33k (still not bad). I wish they'd release the 3-door version here at some point.

It's funny though, when I'm asked (as Carlos did this past weekend) what one car I would have if money were no object. I always have a hard time fixating on just one. He really has a hard on for the Mercedes Benz G-class sport utility truck for it's rough and boxy silhouette. My list, however, is as follows in no particular order:
- BMW M3 (2005)
- BMW X3 (2005)
- Audi S4 (2005)
- Audi A3 (2006)
- VW Golf GTI (2006)
- VW Tourareg V8 (2005)
- Honda Civic Si (2005) -- to be totally pimped

Well then. Hypothetically, where the hell would I put all these cars, you might ask, considering my garage is completely fuck fuckity fuck fuck fucked right now... I have absolutely no idea. Last weekend, the garage door opening system, track and all, came crashing down rendering the door itself completely useless. Ah, more stuff to be fixed while my Jetta looks forward to more street parking.

In the City

Wow, am I glad to be back in LA. Didn't think I'd ever hear myself saying that with such honesty. I really just can't handle the rest of the country anymore, for reasons too numerous to type during work. Granted, I love my family dearly and I had a great time in their company but I cannot believe that I grew up where I did. Sometimes I'm forced to wonder if I am actually a Replicant from a Philip K. Dick novel who had her childhood and adolesence programmed into the corners of an android brain. That would be too cool so I'm guessing that's not it.
So now Carlos and I are back with our sweet hellraisers, Oslo and Bucket. Time again to make the cartoons....

Shoulda Seen This Coming...

Comedy Central is now the new HBO for making us wait for our favorite shows... No one is really saying why this is happening though. Hmmmm.

**UPDATE: According to Stereogum, there's a rumor that Dave recently suffered a nervous breakdown, thus pushing the new season into uncertainty. Ugh.
